CA: Immigration activist arrested during Costa Mesa council meeting

COSTA MESA , Calif. (AP) - Police wrestled with and arrested an immigration rights activist after chaos broke out at a City Council meeting following a debate over immigration law enforcement.

The council voted 3-2 vote last month to become the first city in the nation to train some of its officers to enforce immigration laws, which normally is the responsibility of federal authorities.

On Tuesday, about 100 people protested the decision while 40 supporters of the plan, including Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrist, expressed strong opposition to illegal immigration.

Problems began when activist Coyotl Tezcalipoca, 25, refused to stop speaking after Mayor Allan Mansoor told him the public comment time had ended. He also refused police officers' request that he leave the meeting.

At that point officers, at the order of Police Chief John Hensley, dragged a resisting Tezcalipoca outside. Television footage showed one officer placing him in a headlock.

Tezcalipoca, also known as Benito Acosta, was arrested for investigation of disrupting an assembly and obstructing an arresting officer, police said.

Before the meeting, activists massed outside, singing in Spanish and carrying hand-painted signs reading "Nobody Is Illegal" and "Mansoor Is a Bigot." The mayor proposed and voted for the immigration plan.

Supporters of the plan shouted, "America is a nation of laws."

The council was not scheduled to vote on any immigration issues at Tuesday's meeting.

According to the 2000 census, 29 percent of the city's 108,000 residents were foreign born, and 66 percent of those were from Latin America.

Has anyone checked Coyotl Tezcalipoca's (yes, had to cut and paste that one) citizenship status?

Coyotl Tezcalipoca, 25, refused to stop speaking . . . . Tezcalipoca, also known as Benito Acosta

I knew the instant I saw that name that his mommy and daddy didn't name him that. It just screams "made-up name for political rabble-rousing". Got my confirmation just a few seconds later :-)

No, it means a silly 2nd generation Spanish-Mexican-American kid named Benito Acosta got crazy political ideas while in college, and changed his name as part of his new phony "identity" as an "oppressed" minority. You'd be hard-pressed to find any real person in central America or Southern Mexico with a name like that; maybe a few centuries ago, except that I think most people didn't have surnames and given names in that culture, usually just one name.

[snip]Others accused the council of promoting racism and trying to push Mexican-born residents out of the city.

"We demand a reversal of the agreement," said Coyotl Tezcalipoca of the Tonantzin Collective, a pro-immigrant group.

I used to run a large bail bonding company that did bonds in KS, OK, TX, and we got quite a few names like that.

Google gives Tezcalipoca as the patron of warriors and Coyotl as coyote; apparently he styles himself after this image.

In Aztec mythology, Tonantzin was a lunar mother goddess. Like Tlaltecuhtli, she was sometimes depicted as a toad swallowing a stone knife.

The above is from Google

The "Aztlan" nonsense goes much deeper than you may suspect. There are MEChA chapters on dozens of campuses, and they are treated with a great deal of undeserved respect. Their goal is the establishment "by any means necessary" of their so-called "Aztlan," which will be run on the type of fuzzy indian/native peoples/socialism which is currently sweeping Bolivia and other parts of South America. It may seem like a joke, but they are quite serious about it.

Just google up the "Plan de Aztlan." It is the "Mein Kampf" of the MECHistas, and remember, the West once laughed at that "fantasy" book as well.

Look at the official MEChA sybol: an eagle clutching an Aztec head-chopper, and a lit dynamite bomb.

How far have these Aztlan-promoting MEChA loons gone in life?

"Mayor MEChA:"

Read about how a pro-communist, ultra radical "MEChista" named Tony Villar cut his hair, changed his name, put on a tie, and became the mayor of America's second largest city. LA is America's largest "sanctuary city" where police are forbidde to ask immigration status, even when they arrest felons in the act. Mayor Tony "Villareconquista" calls LA the "new Ellis Island," and he is NOT referring to legal immigrants. LA will sooner or later become an autonomous enclave, a beachhead of "Aztlan."

Vicente and his gang of thieves are getting extremely pushy, aren't they? Can you imagine what would happen to an American doing this same thing in Mexico?

This disgusting behavior by illegal aliens is becoming very common here in Mexifornia. They're disrupting every meeting held by those who want border control, those who actually want the immigration laws ENFORCED!

Wake up, America! This is coming to your state soon.
