A failed 70s stand up comic, who, now, it seems, in a perfect illustration of the Peter Principle, "rose to his level of incompetence" and became long-running host of a TV Show, that , FINALLY, in one fell swoop, revealed him to be about as bright as your average 15 year old, and twice as obnoxious.

ALL True...

But the reason I also pointed out his failed stand up status is this--Leno remains at his core a stand up comic, as does Jerry Seinfeld, Richard Lewis etc. But Letterman, used it as a vehicle to become another empty headed tv host. He was a JCarson wannabe, but the difference is this--Carson didn't have that nasty edge/agenda...Letterman does. For all his OH GOSH Indiana boy charm...he remains at his core a very small man....
