I am a high school student and have received information to attend both the National Student Leadership Conference, and the Congressional Student Leadership Conference. Does anyone know how these conferences rate? Liberal? Conservative? I would like to go to a leadership conference but I don't want to waste my time or money at a liberal propaganda conference. Please Help! Thanks.
the majority of the speakers and "members of the board" are democrat senators and reps. with a few moderate republicans.... yet, there is a short little letter from Pres. Bush in the front of the pamphlet. not sure what to think
My daughter went to this and had a great time. It costs some money, no? I think it's the same thing, you have to be nominated by your school, and you get a really fancy invite, is that the same thing you've gotten invited to?
My daughter is pretty conservative and she really enjoyed it. There are kids from all over the country, so a lot of them are pretty conservative too. If your parents are willing for you to go I think it would be a great experience. Don't know from where in the USA you are, my daughter was/is from NJ, and she is actually going to college in VA now.
You are always going to be better off down south than up in the Boston area, so we were happy she went to this conference which introduced her to the DC area, so she wasn't so set to go to Beantown for college.

I think you meant to reply to me. My daughter went to the Congressional one, I think. Isn't the other more military/defense oriented?

I am the one that recommended that you look into The Heritage Foundation .... We happen to support the work of The Heritage Foundation ... it is one of the most important Conservative groups around ...

My son went to NYLC a few years ago and had a great time! He said that they were divided into groups of either Republican or Democrat. There were plenty of areas of interest to go to. I think he had to pick 4 or 5, but honestly it's been a few years since he went, so I've forgotten a lot of what he told me they did. He's now a soph in college.
