Hokies AD 'embarrassed' by Vick's conduct

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia Tech athletic director Jim Weaver said Tuesday that his administration was embarrassed by Marcus Vick's unsportsmanlike conduct in the Gator Bowl on Monday and that the incident will be reviewed and dealt with.

Vick, the Hokies junior quarterback and younger brother of NFL star Michael Vick, stomped on the left calf of NCAA sacks leader Elvis Dumervil of Louisville when Dumervil lay prone on the ground after tackling Vick in the second quarter of the game in Jacksonville, Fla. Vick said later it was an accident, but his version was not supported by video replays shown widely since. After the play, Vick seems to pause before walking across Dumervil's leg.

Vick was not penalized on the play, but was rebuked at halftime by quarterbacks coach Kevin Rogers, who said he even considered pulling Vick from the lineup.

In what universe do you live?

Atlanta.

Exactly what incident involving Michael Vick justifies that comment?

A good example would be in reply #41.

You have direct personal knowledge that he knew he had this STD and willfully transmitted it? Or is it possible that he is being sued simply because he has deep pockets? Or maybe he didn't have the disease. Maybe she gave it to him. The point is, you don't know.

If you don't think he's a good quarterback, fine. Say that. However, he's not a punk.

He said he had it. Need more proof?

You're right to watch his head. He was looking down when he did it. It makes it abundantly clear he knew what he was doing.

You gotta love VT. We were "thinking" about benching him, but didn't. That's like the cop "thinking" about giving me a speeding ticket. Until he puts pen to paper, I'm looking to skate...

If Vick is not a senior, VT should bench him for a long, long time. If Vick is a senior, I hope the NFL teams looking for QBs realize what a head case they're looking at here, and shop elsewhere. This little stunt could wind up costing him a lot of money.

Besides, what NFL team wants to be the next Atlanta Falcons?

I didn't say it was an accident. Read what I said again.

Vick mistakenly thought he was an offensive lineman for a minute.

???

"Offensive linemen" = Vtech player.

This was no mistake.

I meant Vick was acting like an offensive lineman.

Just saw it. You're being silly.

You're nuts! He looked down, stepped on his leg, then BOUNCED on it once then walked away. If the ref had seen it he would surely have been ejected.

As I recall, the name 'Druckenmiller' will win you a free pass as well.

Just reported on Fox Sports, Don Mexico has been thrown off the VT football team and expelled from the University.
