Pamela's guardianship renewed for another six months! Please see "Scott's News" for more information. (continued at link)
http://scottsfight.com/Scott's%20News.htm January 3, 2006
Today was the long-anticipated status hearing on guardianship for Scott.
The hearing took place in judge's chambers with Pamela and her attorneys and Eliza and her attorneys. Pamela presented the judge with information that she has now filed with the court to have Scott declared "partially capacitated". This means, at the very least, that he would then be allowed to indicate his preferences for his social environment, such as who is allowed to visit. He has repeatedly indicated that he does not want to see Eliza, but he does wants to see his son.
Pamela also informed the judge that, after Scott is legally determined to be "partially capacitated", they would be filing for a divorce for him. [emphasis mine]
Eliza indicated to the judge that she would fight any divorce proceedings.
The final item that Pamela presented to the judge is that Scott is scheduled for surgery to close his tracheotomy opening, which should allow him to regain his ability to speak and make sound.
Based on all the above information, Judge Wilkes ruled to grant Pamela another six months of full guardianship of Scott. This will be a crucial time for Pamela and Scott, as they continue to work, not only for Scott's recovery, but for him to regain the right and ability to truly "speak for himself".
Please continue to join us in prayer and other support for Scott and Pamela as they continue the battle for LIFE.

When Judge Greer refused to give the woman a restraining order and she was murdered shortly thereafter he said "she didn't look like she was afraid."
In other words, J. Greer is looking for Golden Globe performances (the foreign press).
Before he was a killer, he was an incompetent.

Thank God that Scott lives in Jacksonville and has a good judge -- not the devil known as Greer.

I responded already. Truly sad, but I said the thing to do is love the child and take care of the child till it passes on it's on. A person who is breathing, eating, but without a brain, is still a loved child of God.

I made my comments there, too, after yours. I just never understood how there could be a question. It never entered our minds. We also never planned, nor had the occasion to use extraordinary means to keep our son alive.

">> Surf's up."
"Would you say that we're on the Road to Surfdom?"
Yeah, only I'd spell it a little differently. :)
A few days ago I announced the end of my favorite tagline, "Serf City here we come!" (with apologies to Jan and Dean.) How can one say "here we come" when we're there?

About ten years ago I was having dinner with Joe Sobran and a lady friend. He announced that he'd had an epiphany. I took out a pen and recorded it, date and all. "It's beginning to look like the Road to Serfdom is the way out," said Joe.

"They made fun of Frostbite Falls, MN too. Do you know how many sleepers and spies for AQ are sneaking in to the US via MN?"
No, I don't. And neither does Fearless Leader. Worse than that, one or more people there might dissent from F.L,'s God-appointed reign. The only solution: torture everyone in Frostbite Falls to see if anyone knows anything or has heard rumors, or dissents, or isn't blissed out. It's the only way. We must be absolutely sure. Good Citizens know that if they have nothing to hide, there's no problem, right? So Good Citizens will line up to volunteer to be tortured. Those who don't volunteer must have something to hide, which means there's probable cause to torture them to see what they're hiding.
When Rocky objected, "Hey, isn't that against the law?", Fearless Leader had his online minions, The Freepless Legion, explain that Parliament passing the Don't You Torture Nobody Law was meaningless, because of the emergency. Fearless Leader had written "I'll do it if I want to, so there!" on a post-it note and stuck it on the law. That made it legal. So Rocky agreed to be tortured.
After the "session" was over, Rocky was heard to say: "If Fearless Leader's nemesis, Fearsome Hildabeast, had the power to torture me at her will, it would be really bad! I sure am glad Fearless Leader can do that to me instead! It's good, and worth it, as long as our side's in power!" He was given a Good Citizen certificate.
