Today was the long-anticipated status hearing on guardianship for Scott. 

The hearing took place in judge's chambers with Pamela and her attorneys and Eliza and her attorneys.  Pamela presented the judge with information that she has now filed with the court to have Scott declared "partially capacitated".  This means, at the very least, that he would then be allowed to indicate his preferences for his social environment, such as who is allowed to visit.  He has repeatedly indicated that he does not want to see Eliza, but he does wants to see his son.  

Pamela also informed the judge that, after Scott is legally determined to be "partially capacitated",  they would be filing for a divorce for him.  [emphasis mine]

  Eliza indicated to the judge that she would fight any divorce proceedings. 

The final item that Pamela presented to the judge is that Scott is scheduled for surgery to close his tracheotomy opening, which should allow him to regain his ability to speak and make sound. 

Based on all the above information, Judge Wilkes ruled to grant Pamela another six months of full guardianship of Scott.  This will be a crucial time for Pamela and Scott, as they continue to work, not only for Scott's recovery, but for him to regain the right and ability to truly "speak for himself".

SAFETY HARBOR, Florida (AP) - A man whose brain-damaged wife was at the center of a contentious end-of-life battle that played out on a worldwide media stage has remarried, family members said.

Michael Schiavo and Jodi Centonze were married Saturday in a private church ceremony, said John Centonze, the brother of the bride.

Schiavo's former wife, Terri Schiavo, died March 31, 13 days after her feeding tube was removed. Terri Schiavo suffered irreversible brain damage after collapsing at age 26 in 1990.

Her parents and siblings fought to keep her alive for years, arguing that she had some level of consciousness. Gov. Jeb Bush, the U.S. Supreme Court, Congress, the White House, and even the Vatican became involved in the case.

An autopsy supported Michael Schiavo's contention that she was in a persistent vegetative state with no consciousness and no hope of recovery.

Because of the attention attracted by the Schiavo saga, family members kept the location of the ceremony secret and reporters were not allowed inside the church in Safety Harbor, about 15 miles (24 kilometers) northwest of Tampa.

"It was very emotional," John Centonze said after the noon ceremony. "It's been a long time coming. A lot of things happened in between."

The bride and groom did not make any public comment. They had applied Friday for a marriage license.

The couple met in a dentist's office and began a relationship after Terri Schiavo was already in a nursing home. Michael Schiavo has called Centonze his fiancee for more than five years, relatives said. They have two young children.

"Except for the fact that the world knows their name, it was like any wedding you've ever been to," said Michael Hirsh, who attended, and who is helping Michael Schiavo write a book.

Hirsh estimated about 80 people attended.

Bump to my #506 link which is in the smoky back room and attracting trolls like flies.

The trolls serve our own purpose as a sounding board, unable to hide their own intent, exposing their love of the dark side, thus offering all an opportunity to review the truths of how Terri was murdered.

I expected them to be out in force on this topic, it being so close to their nerve centers that their hero is in question. You can almost hear the wings flapping and the guano flying as they pour out of the cave.

I see envoys from clownposse snapping at the carrion as one could expect. And then the fellow travelers, either the guilt ridden, self-important intellectuals, or brave defenders of Scientology come running.

I am repulsed by the scent of death, but some are drawn to it. That is why the best image I conjure is scavenger critters tearing at carrion.

It's been suggested that we try to get pro-Terri talk show hosts to do remote broadcasts from the hospice or the courthouse. Preferably they'd do it for several days, and we'd have more than one host, so there would be coverage all day long. Even just one host would be a great help. We "Terri's Freepers" and "Friends of Terri" are a MOVEMENT! Those online the night we all started singing know this in their bones, and know exactly what I'm talking about. Crossing all political lines, not beholden to any party line, or in abject hero-worship of an iconic Fearless Leader, we're concerned with principle and what we know is right. A movement. As one of those now despised boomers, I've seen movements come and go and I know one when I see it. Movements that were really no threat to the positions of the powers that be were either ignored, lightly ridiculed, or - sometimes - encouraged as a time wasting diversion. Those that began to be effective received a special treatment. Back in the day we called it Cointelpro. Some may object that the term only applies to a specific program to destabilize certain ethnic-based organizations. True enough. However, Cointelpro became the name for the general tactics employed by the Cointelpro program.

The tactics always included planting a sleeper, who'd have the image of a long-time, yet peripheral, supporter. After the sleeper cultivates this image a while, it suddenly plants documents or other disinformation that call into question all the things the movement has proved about the opposition. When anyone proves that the planted disinformation is patently illogical, the sleeper denounces them as supporters of the enemy. Then, the sleeper screams about its "long time supporter" status, sucks up to as many as possible in the movement, and whines, "See what they did to me" -- pointing at those who exposed the sleeper, and accusing the exposers of "causing division". When, of course, it was the sleeper who caused it. Thus were movements split and made ineffective. These tactics worked, very well and very often, on the gullible. Rifts and animosities that never should have been still exist 35 years after the Cointelpro programs of 1970.

So, don't be gullible. If you ever see a "long time Terri supporter" suddenly concocting provably illogical tales that can aid no one but Mikey Schiavo - and implying that anyone who exposes the pro-Schiavo propaganda is a Schiavo/Felos/Greer supporter -- watch out! It means someone is running a Cointelpro type scam on you.
