I would agree that this was good news if not for the fact that the TSA has in its employ so many people who actually make me wish they were on welfare, they are so unprofessional, incompetent, and sloppy. Their boorish appearance and lack of mastery of even basic English will prohibit them from carrying this out effectively.

I simply want my Bick cigarette lighter back, and then these idiots can ask me all the questions that they desire.

Tomorrow, my wife and I will be flying to Mexico for our two weeks of vacation. Trying to obey all of the stupid TSA regulations is almost impossible, but we are trying our best to comply. Not a single one of their regulations will make our flight any safer, and I have no idea who they are trying to fool.

Wow! We must be flying through different airports. All of the TSA types at the airports I've flown through in the past year have been competent, businesslike, and polite.

What airport are you flying out of or into where you see the behavior you describe? I'll avoid it.

Or, perhaps you don't fly much at all. Or, perhaps you're recalling the pre-TSA security folks...the ones hired by some contractor to do security.

I just can't tell which it is. I can tell you, though, that I've seen nothing of the sort, and I fly a lot.
