An irrelevent sidebar - in 2004, El Paso was named the sweatiest U.S. city.

My 2 days in El Paso in 2002 seriously compromised my optimistic leanings. Glad to see somebody is all smiles about El Paso.

I'm still tryin' to find out if the old theater is still there on the circle (near the Juarez crossing). It had a pipe organ that came up out of the floor during intermission.
I was stationed at Ft. Bliss in 1968 for Nike Herc radar training. Went back until 1971 for SNAP training.

Too dry to sweat. As a former resident, I still love the place. The food is out of this world and it is pretty to boot.

There was graffiti on virually
every surface not fenced off with razor wire last time I was there, years ago.
Must have changed.
Anyway, best wishes and a happy & prosperous New Year to the citizens of El Paso.

My son is stationed there--reminds me of southern Colorado. Would like El Paso except for the winds. But it is a great place to visit!

Hm, you don't hear about El Paso much. I was actually born there. But I don't remember it as we moved when I was 6 weeks old. I went there twice when I was in college in Cruces. I just remember it being a typical big icky city tho. Well, that and I could drink there at 18 instead of 21.
