David Barton did not use the word: 'bogus". It's --->you who used that deceptive word. Barton said of the quote that insofar as a primary source has thus far not been located, he has termed it as 'unconfirmed." This doesn't mean that Patrick Henry didn't say it, it only means that seculars/atheists are doing all in their power to erase and/or revise America's history, and it's these scurrilous parasites who are calling our Founders quotes into question.
My observations concerning your being 'exercised' still stand.
Oh well, I'll be delighted to cite you as another instance of a person whose Christian values don't extend to telling the truth. It's a long list.
There is nothing to 'erase'. The quote does not appear in any of Patrick Henry's papers. A quote without a primary source is a bogus quote. But you don't care, because to you, the ends justify the means.
I'm not sure what the debate is here. If it's a legitimate quote, there's a primary textual source for it from the man's works, yes? Just post that reference and I'm sure RWP will concede the point. If no one can turn up a primary cite, then it's at best an unverified quote and should be avoided for credibility reasons.
