Japan is in clear violation of the International Whaling Commission's global moratorium on commercial whaling. Full stop.
I have to agree with you there. This killing of rare animals just because they are an enjoyable cuisine item back home and under the cover of "science" is pretty selfish and short sighted.
If Japan is an adherent to the International Whaling Commission's authority on this, then they should stop this little game until the animals' numbers have recovered.
