Had an alternative to the blacked eyed. Missus made a wonderful soup with navy beans and collards. Chicken broth with various veggies for the base. With left over pork roast and morning sausage.
I did the absolute best rack of baby backs I have ever done yesterday. Sold on the dry rub.

Mama grew Black eyed peas and made the
BEST BEPs with shelled and green snap stage with Bacon. She made it with ham hocks also but my favorite was bacon.
Do you buy fresh or canned BEPs?
