Thank you, CajunConservative, for posting this. I know that some folks in this country [and on FRee Republic] cannot see past their own self-absorption ... but others will, I bellieve, begin to comprehend the incredible destruction of the Gulf Coast, if they can see some of it for themselves.
I was really surprised at how much damage was still evident in the Big Lake and surrounding area. It does not look like much has been done yet that's not true when you see the massive debris piles. I can't explain the smell but it was musty, salty, oppressive there. They have a long road ahead but I saw many people busy working on their homes.
