The Russians are raising gas prices on everyone, in order to take the money, and to threaten them politically.

Ukraine should simply raise the pipeline transit charges to make up the difference.

I keep telling you: never, never, never trust the Russians. They are proving themselves again. They need about 300 years to catch up with normal European standards, and if they start moving up, they will pass the French on their way down.

This is disinformation on your part. The Russians offered to sell the gas to the Ukraine for $160 per 1,000 cu meters, and to increase the transit fees they pay the Ukranians from $1.00 to $1.75 to help offset the increase. The Ukrainians rejected this offer, and DEMANDED transit fees of $3.00 per 1,000, which in effect would give them the Russian gas for free.

Well that's one possibility, but lets explore another, shall we? Gas is in short demand, at all time high prices and the Russians want to get the most out of their assets in what is dasterdly called the evil Capitalism. So maybe that might explain why they've raised prices on their allies like Armenia and Belaruss and the Italians and Greeks? Hmmmm, interesting isn't it? And then, on top of that, the idiot Oranges and Saakashvili's Roses pissed on Russia and thus ended Russia's foreign aid.

But that makes to much sense, so we'll ignore it.
