“It’s between our ‘governing class’ here and activists everywhere else.”

What a telling statement this is.

pMSNBC doesn't like my dial-up.

Does Fineman actually 'get it' in this article?

Amusing. . .the activists think the Democrats aren't far ENOUGH to the left.

Here's to the coming civil war amongst the Dems. . . . .and may the Bloggers win.

Because the farther left the Dems go. . .the more elections they'll lose . . .

Too many “governing” Democrats, he says, wrongly assume that their party’s traditional vision of “competent, benevolent government” has been rejected by the voters.

Did anyone ever believe that Democrats offered “competent, benevolent government”?

"too many Democrats here are too yielding to George W. Bush on the war in Iraq, on tax policy, you name it."

More cluelessness.
This president and administration has been savaged like no
other in recent memory. Loyal opposition? One nation?
Not based on the democrats behavior over the last 5 years.
God save us from these people.

I will bet you that left wing bloggers will eventually end up on the government payroll. Probably be paid $ 75,000 plus benefits.

Sounds as though the Dems are trying to re-invent themselves . . . . . . just as soon as they figure out what they believe in. Recent history suggests that the USA is not among their core beliefs.

"The First Battle of Bull Run (or First Manassas, if you insist) in this civil war occurred in 2003 and early 2004, when party insiders, the Mainstream Media and a network of long-time “funders” anointed Sen. John Kerry, only to see him get chewed up in the early going by Gov. Howard Dean."

And they didn't learn the lesson of Dean's self-immolation - that even the wimps in the Old Media are turned off by the high-pitched lunacy of the "progressive" fringe.

It's significant that the leader of Iran and the agitators of the former traditional, patriotic Democrat (now the Rat) Party constantly use Nazi comparisons.

They are alike in many ways. Only true believers may be tolerated everyone else is an infidel -- Germany's National Socialists are agreed upon as the most evil thus so are the infidels.

. [Sheehan] came to prominence -- quickly, virally, seemingly from out of nowhere

Skid marks on underpants could come to prominence quickly with the servile, fawning promotion of the MSM.

What's needed? The Rats answer: More agitation, more stirring up. More Leninist tactics: unforgiving toughness and a mastery of new means of communications. . .the key is not ideological purity but combativeness

More and more the Rats speak in revolutionary rhetoric. Give it back to them, Mr. President Lincoln.. er, I mean Bush.

Fineman on Sheehan:

It was the WAY she came to prominence—quickly, virally, seemingly from out of nowhere—and her stubbornly confrontational tone. In Rosenberg’s view, that’s the tone Democrats need to adopt now, especially after Hurricane Katrina.

Oh yeah. America just loves hearing the voice of a developmentally disabled 12 year old girl come out of the body of a 50 year old woman. That must be why she had tens of thousands of people showing up at her book signing.

Cindy who?

“It’s between our ‘governing class’ here and activists everywhere else.”

Truer than the speaker imagines. The extremist wish to make civil governance impossible and indictable.

There's no war. The left knows that Hillie's lying through her teeth about being a centrist, and they'll be more than happy to vote for her. This is all about persuading the red bits how Hillie isn't really a lefty after all. Nice try, but they'll find folks a lot harder to hose nowadays.
