At a session of the Security Council on December 22, President Vladimir Putin said that Russia should claim world leadership in the energy sector in a mid-term perspective, and is going to play this role at the upcoming G8 summit.
Putin said that Russia expects to be a full-fledged participant in international institutions, such as G8, WTO and OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development), but reserves for itself the right to uphold its positions in foreign energy markets.

It seems that the uneducated narrow minded KGB apparatchiks in Moscow are living in their own world.

Now countries of our region has few interesting argument to discuss with our German friends. I’m curious wherever they still claim that Baltic pipeline has nothing to do with policy.
