I see nothing shocking in the things Churchill considered, if one is aware of the times. Hitler was bent on wiping out England and teh rest of the Western democracies. He almost succeeded. And indeed Hitler was the epitome of evil. Did the Nuremberg trials really make a difference?

One has to keep in mind that the Nuremburg trials were
in themselves an unusual event, nothing like that had
ever been done before.
