As I watched it, as I watched him emote with those all-too-familiar poses, poll tested phrases and prevarication, I wondered if he had any inkling whatsoever of his culpability in this? Did he at that moment have any idea what was awaiting him and his already pathetic legacy? I think not. He seemed oblivious to his central role in 9/11. 'Compartmentalization' had obviously already kicked in. The New York Times got it precisely right. "Documentably dysfunctional" with "delusions" is exactly what he is. And the Missus is at least as sick. It's too bad The Times lacked the character to take the next step.
