Out here in Cali, if neighbors complain about loud noise, the police come out and ask the noise-makers to turn down the volume, which people will do while the police are there. Once the police are gone, the volume goes up again. I don't know what the law is, i.e., after the police have come out a certain number of times, what happens.
Have you talked with the Watch Commander on duty on Friday nights, just to find out what procedure is? This may prompt even more creative ways of protesting/supporting. I would suggest singing patriotic songs in unison, or experiment with different types of music to see what kind the pinkos absolutely hate; they may stop showing up.
The whole idea is to make them a whole lot madder than you are.
I salute all you D.C. FReepers for what you're doin'.

Since this is the most active D.C. Chapter thread going right now, I want to let everyone know about the protest in Olney, MD by the PeaceAction Montgomery group.
They had a total of 8 people to our 4 ([Mr & Mrs] trooprally, [Mrs] Mr.MrsRedWhiteBlue, and local Stu). They had signs and a small banner. They stayed for an hour except one die hard that was in September vigil that we counter rallied. He was there early and was going to stay there until we left, and we left after the other 7 walked away. He had a sign saying "Support the Troops, Impeach Bush".
There were several highlights today. First, we definitely received more honks and thumbs up than they did, and second, that we got them pissed off at us. We were right next to one group (they had 4 people on two diagonal corners) and when they were leaving, one asked disgustingly why we couldn't be on one of the vacant corners. Simple, free speech and we didn't want them to have sidewalk space to themselves.
And yes, it was chilly, being in the shadows and with a slight breeze, but nothing like at WR

Several months ago, Code Pink left fliers at the doors of residences near Walter Reed encouraging them to call the police to complain about our vocal exercising of our First Amendment rights.Seems the Code Pinkos just love our First Amendment. Congressman Billybob, I believe this is right up your alley, isn't it?

Government Spending Question:
Guess which state gets the most federal tax dollars (pork) per capita?
It's not Texas.
It's not Alaska.
It's not California.
It's not even a state.
Answer: District of Columbia.

We're not sure if the order applies to their singalong guitar player (who serenaded the wounded troops tonight with Bob Dylan's "Knocking on Heaven's Door".) Time to buy a guitar ...

I received an email today from a soldier's dad, thanking FReepers for being at WR to support the troops, so I wanted to pass it on.

No time to read the whole thread, but this is outrageous. Maybe someone said this already:
singalong guitar player (who serenaded the wounded troops tonight with Bob Dylan's "Knocking on Heaven's Door".)
Cheery little rays of sunshine, aren't they? Sure they support the troops. After all, they didn't change the lyrics to "hell's door."
To: kristinn
This totally stinks..
Doesn't anyone in DC care about the soldiers but the DC Chapter of FR?

Get someone there with a guitar to play country songs like "I'm Proud to be an American" and the like.

Sometimes silence says more than words. Just the fact that y'all are there says more than any voiced words can. Besides, I've seen y'all just standing around not bothering anyone and getting more attention than anyone else just by using good manners and being civil.
Y'all rock!!!!!!
