Ward 4 is quite large.
But, PSA 401 - in which WRAMC and Takoma Metro are situated - is much smaller. This woman was, in fact killed, in your neighborhood. Sadly, she too, must have also thought the neighborhood was a nice one, with SUVs in the driveways and those cute little decorative flags hanging on sticks in yards.
How long have you been a local?
To: tgslTakoma
Maybe he has spent too much time watching reruns of "The West Wing" on Bravo to see the whole county.

Interesting how you're worried about my non-responses. Hypocrite. I haven't claimed to see any crackhouses around there (although that abandoned building gives me pause), nor have I had any trouble in the neighborhood with the exception of the protesting liberal filth that you so conveniently keep forgetting to mention is causing our presence there in the first place.
I'm glad you're so darned concerned about your precious neighborhood that you can't even be bothered to come out to defend it. No, you leave it to others of us to drive for hours to stand against this anti-American filth, while you sit back and just lob criticisms about us. No concern at all for the soldiers inside of Walter Reed. Why? Because you're a liberal hack. And you're now busted.
Don't like our opinions about your neighborhood? Too bad. Come out some Friday evening and do your sales pitch in person. I'll be able to hear you just fine from across the street.

Oh, I've called the police on Code Pink nine or ten times...I don't think they have any right to protest there. Sure you have. Since lying is all the rage on this thread, I'm sure you'll be quite happy to provide copies of the police reports. Thank you.

Would you guys please NOT invite gopgenPoser to come out on Friday nights. We're better off without 'em.

I received an email today from a soldier's dad, thanking FReepers for being at WR to support the troops, so I wanted to pass it on.

There's sales tax, restaurant tax, and cigarette tax. They do okay. But no property or income tax. And even if they could collect property tax, they wouldn't get much of it, because so much of the District is federal property and therefore exempt.
Don't get me wrong; it's not really subject to dispute that DC gets and spends a lot of money poorly. My sole point is that it's misleading to compare federal tax dollars per capita, because the feds shoulder the whole load that's split between the feds, municipalities and states elsewhere in the U.S., from law enforcement to medicaid to schools.

Keep up the fight - let me know if you need us to chip in some bucks.
God bless.

No time to read the whole thread, but this is outrageous. Maybe someone said this already:
singalong guitar player (who serenaded the wounded troops tonight with Bob Dylan's "Knocking on Heaven's Door".)
Cheery little rays of sunshine, aren't they? Sure they support the troops. After all, they didn't change the lyrics to "hell's door."
