Happy New Year Baked Black Eyed PeasI am not a particular fan of just plain old black eyed peas, but this baby has a little character and a kick..
- 1 pound dried black-eyed peas
- 1 pound link sausage, or your favorite
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon prepared yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3-4 dashes of hot sauce
- (Optional) 1/2 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
1) Rinse, prepare, soak, and cook peas in about 3 cups water, following directions on the package.
2) Drain and reserve half of the cooking liquid. In a skillet over medium heat, brown sausage and onions; drain off excess fat.
3) Place peas in a 3 quart casserole; add sausage and onions.
4) Stir in reserved liquid, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and barbecue sauce.
Bake at 300° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Serves 6.

Oh, that's easy - just drink too much non-clear liquor - you'll get a hangover every time.
Now, PREVENTING a hangover - that's also easy.
The process is twofold: (1) Before retiring for the night, eat something really salty (Fritos® works best for me) without drinking anything. (2) When you wake up thirsty a couple of hours later, drink a lot of water.
That's all there is to it; you'll be nicely hydrated and ready to face the world.
