I'm givig you my recipe for Rum Cake, so you can have your cake and get drunk too!
Really, it is very good and a family favorite, especially over the holidays.
Rum Cake
1 18.5-oz. box yellow cake mix
1 3.75-oz. vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
1/2 c. cold water
1/2 c. oil
1/2 c. rum
Mix all cake ingredients togetherwell, using the high speed on your mixer. Bake in bundt or tube pan that has been prepared at 325 for one hour. Let cool slightly. Prepare the glaze when the cake comes out of the oven.
Glaze:
1/4 lb. butter
1/4 c. water
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. rum
Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add rum and stir well.
Poke holes in cake with carving fork. Drizzle glaze over cake allowing cake to absorb all of it. Remove from pan while still warm.
I'll finally start to sleep better which gives me more energy to fight the Liberals who try to trash America !!!
Oh, that looks good!
LOL! I haven't made this cake in years since I gave up the booze but boy it is a great cake. Back in the day it was a cup for the cake and a cup for the cook.
I got the recipe from a Bacardis ad in a magazine and named it Maryland State Police Sobriety Check Point Cake, i.e. dont eat and drive!
Most of the alcohol cooks out of the cake mix but the glaze is the killer.
Thanks for the recipe; copied it for later use. Had foot surgery Thursday, so I'm taking it easy at home, trying to keep the foot elevated. (But sneaking in housework every now and then.)
