On the other side you have President Bush and the conservatives protecting the American people.
Just enforce immigration law and I will become Bush's most energetic little supporter!!

According to the media themselves, the president attempted to persuade them not to run the story.

This "spying" operation is continually referred to as NSA. Politically speaking Condi Rice was NSA.
Little Dickey Morris writes a book Condi vs Hillry and ....
I read Hillry has recently said she adamantly opposes spying on Americans... ha ha ha.... I wonder about motivation..
To: mware
Yes. So how could the White House be involved in leaking this? The whole premise is stupid.

Now that a lot of the Congress (if not most) are out of town, along with staffers on vacation, it will be pretty hard to get an organized resistance/coverup to this investigation. No one is in the offices to shred documents and erase computer files. Phone logs can be demanded without anyone there to hide or revise them. Excellent strategery. An amazingly great observation, MM. Nicely done.

expect sabre-rattling beforehand and a few explosions.....
which will give them the opposite desired effect. All of this stuff with the NYT has produced the opposite of what they had hoped. There is a quiet rage developing among normal Americans, at least it is down in the south. People who I have never heard speak a political thought cannot understand why they would tell about the phone tapping.

I agree. Perhaps the media and the democrat leadership have forgotten 9/11 and subsequent events, but most of my friends haven't. I still shudder thinking about Danny Perle's murder and the beheading of Nick Berg. I still can see the WTC crumbling into a huge pile of rubble.
So, am I the least little bit upset that the President initiated this intelligence operation? No. Do I think the newspapers revealing these secrets are traitors? Yes, indeed!

I have been noticing the disarray this morning. The LA Times is trying a stupid spin that this might "reach the White House." Meanwhile others, like Ellis Hennican, are tring the "protecting our rights is more important than security." One group is acting like they want to pin this terrible leak on the President, while another is saying that the leak is no big deal.
I will be interested to see who is on the Sunday shows tomorrow. Dollars to doughnuts we won't see Rockefeller.

I can't understand how they could forget all of the murders either. Or how they can overlook all of the Clinton's evil deeds and be upset with President Bush for the least little thing. 'They may have the finest educations money can buy but they sure were overlooked when common sense and morality was handed out.

I think that the Sunday Talk Show thread should make special note of missing guests...especially if those guests have been making frequent appearances in the past. For example, if Joe Biden is suddenly absent for weeks in a row, that would be extremely odd, wouldn't it?

You know, we really need on site observers in D.C. We need people staking out Bennett's law offices, checking out who happens to be in his Senate office today, etc. If I was a reporter in Washington (working for the Washington Times, of course) that is what I would be doing.

Yes. I will be interested to see what happens over the next few weeks. By the way, if you get a chance, listen to Tony Snow's show, too. He picks up lots of scuttlebutt from inside the Beltway.

Don't you love how PravdABDNC is for a free and open gummit but not a free and open press? Tell us who leaked classified information and what else were they willing to leak? These traitors need to be exposed for who and what they are.

People who I have never heard speak a political thought cannot understand why they would tell about the phone tapping. Can the connect it to the Democrats in their minds? That's the important thing, if we want to see an electoral result.
