Go to command prompt and type
regsvr32 -u %windir%\system32\shimgvw.dll

This disables the offending dll. Then rename it so some other program doesn't reactivate it.
ren %windir%\system32\shimgvw.dll %windir%\system32\shimgvw.dll_bad
