Armed robbers who held up a money courier made off with his first aid kit instead of the suitcase full of cash.
The two bandits pursued the courier at high speed before shooting at his vehicle and forcing him to stop on a road in Gronau, Germany.
Forcing the boot open, one of the crooks snatched a case before fleeing again. But instead of taking the money, he made off with a first aid kit.
Police spokesman Johann Steinlitz said: "If there was an award for the dumbest crooks they would certainly be in the running.
"But even though they did not get what they were after, we are still investigating for attempted armed robbery and endangering lives. Luckily the courier was not harmed in the incident."
LOL Nice to see some jerk hopefully learn his lesson fast and hard.
That's almost as bad as a suicide bomber detonating himself while loading up.
We were leaving Houston in about 1999 when there was an armored truck in front of us. A van full of men kept running into the back of the armored truck. Over and over they bumped it. We turned off that road as soon as possible, thinking a gun fight might be coming. Last sight of them, the armored truck was ignoring the van and just kept going on its way, didn't seem to be getting damaged. I hope the armored truck went to a police station with the van still following. I talked to Houston police about it later and learned nothing.
This was definitely not an armed robbery. Obvious to me: the man desperately needed medical supplies for his ailing mother, daughgter, and grandaughter. The stores were closed, what the hell would you have done?
It is hunting season in this region, which explains the camo and the guns. "Ya see, your honor, after patching up Grandma, Ma, and the kids, we was going out for wild boar." Honi soit qui mal y pense, old bean!
