How come only 1.51% of the populace is gay but 1/3 of the TV shows have gays as featured characters? Because Hollywood is gay.
How come more people speak Tagalog than are vegans and I've never heard of Tagalog?
Tagalog is the primary dialect of the Philippines. I'm a white boy, and I was had passable fluency at one time in Tagalog. They are very common in some parts of the US, non-existent in others.

"I've never heard of Tagalog"
Indiginous language of the Philippines. (When those folks speak English it is WAY difficult to understand them.)
No offense intended--just my experience here in multi-cultural SoCal, where we get a lot of experience with such issues.

We are always told this is more like 10%. Obviously it isn't so. Every vaguely scientific survey of the population has shown it to be in the 1-2% range. This is consistent with that.
