Absolutely not, but then Dalit politicians would like to believe in it and want to continue with the "cast" system or else they forfeit the benefits provided to the Dalits through affirmative action.

As long as you reject the system, that's all I'm interested in, politically is generally another story.
FWIW I think the Hindus should be able to buy and build a temple somewhere in Moscow or near there, and if the government took their building they should at least compensate them for the property.
I don't however disagree with the ArchBishop's statements, from a religious perspective he's wholely correct and justified, and he is a religious leader.
