She's Les In-Comp-E-TANT!
To: LdSentinal
Her political activities go back to 1971, when she ran the Lafayette Parish operation for Democrat gubernatorial nominee (late U.S. senator) J. Bennett Johnston, Jr. Johnston was one of the most popular officeholders LA ever had. Johnston was strong enough to dictate his successor in office. I would imagine that Blanco is reviewing the Johnston playbook.

Correction, Johnston was never the Democrat gubernatorial nominee in LA: he was one of two runoff candidates for the slot in 1971.

The problem is: you can't beat nothing with nothing. Jindal is going to stick in Congress and should. What Pub can take her on and win?? Name one. Vitter will not drop out of the Senate to run. Bob Livingston?? Just who? I suggest we check out some La. media and see who the Pubs have in the wings.

Anyone unbelievably stupid enough to vote democrat, still wouldn't be unbelievably stupid enough to vote for Blanco.

Jindal might run for governor as that was what he wanted to do.
If neither him or Vitter, Treasurer John Kennedy is inkling to switch parties as does former AG Richard Ieyoub.

He might run again, but I hope he has bigger things in mind... Like Mary Hairdo's seat.
Wait a minute... that didn't come out right.
To: Theodore R.
It became a given that if you lost the govenor's race you'd end up as US Senator. Johnston and Landrieu both did it.

Treasurer John Kennedy is the only one making any sense out of the whole bunch....i.e."
Treasurer John Kennedy has not found much political support for his proposed ban on elected officials benefitting from federal hurricane relief work, but he has gained a vocal ally. He and Sen. James David Cain, R-Dry Creek, next week will call for the governor to include the legislation in the November special session. The proposal would bar contracts going to firms in which elected officials own at least 5 percent. The ban would include competitively bid contracts."
However, I don't have any more basic trust in him than the rest - despite him turning over to the GOP...or did he ever do that? Wasn't he a big supporter of john kerry's last year?

There were three states affected by Katrina, and there were three governors of these states.
Blanco, Barbour and Riley. Of the three, the only one who saw their approval ratings drop after Katrina was Blanco. In fact, Barbour and Riley have probably been saved by the positive public perception of their actions as it relates to Katrina.

A 32% approval rating, her base in Orleans parish washed away, and just 19% saying she deserves re-election.
