McCain's plumage
A LOT OF LOOSE TALK portrays Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., as a RINO--a Republican In Name Only. But if Mr. McCain is a de facto Democrat, he must be Joe Lieberman. Here is the Vietnam War hero on the subject of Iraq:
"If we leave Iraq prematurely," Mr. McCain told the American Enterprise Institute, "the jihadists will interpret the withdrawal as their great victory. Osama bin Laden and his followers believe that America is weak, unwilling to suffer casualties in battle. They drew that lesson from Lebanon in the 1980s and Somalia in the 1990s, and today they have their sights set squarely on Iraq."

Well, McCain thinks for himself, that's for sure. But what is this about more troops? More hearts and minds efforts I can understand, and more training cadre.

Believe he's talking about countries with Islamic populations... Understood, however, VN has been constantly referred to the past 4 years and was the beginning of the cut and run legacy. It has not gone unnoticed.

Being a POW is not akin to being a "hero".
McCain is not a hero, and does not have "the right stuff" to be POTUS. The American voting public will tell him, again, what he failed to hear the last time.
Now, I can see him as president of Vietnam, with Kerry as VP. Yes, that's a distinct possibility.

One or two rational policy statements doesn't negate Insane McCain's constant undermining of the Bush administration or his "Free Speech is for the Elite" CFR bill. He's a danger to the Republic. He's probably a danger to himself too. Whoever sets his dinner table should make sure he only gets a plastic spork.

The man is not stable. God help us if he gets the Republican nomination and Hillary the Democrat.
