...from a 55-year-old, unemployed American who had been to 14 States looking for work.

B.S. - With 5% unemployment, those that want to work, can work!

Which Black Spokesperson proclaimed blacks wouldn't take or want menial jobs like those the 'immigrants' are taking?

Jessie Jackson was the one who said we couldn't expect young blacks to work for McDonalds and earn minimum wage when they can sell drugs and make $$$$$$.

"With 5% unemployment"

Are they still skewing that statistic by excluding people who have given up looking for work?

Only if they will take the job for cash, off the books. If not the illegal gets the job.

You are aware that the government no longer counts people whose unemployment insurance has run out? That way the unemployment figures look much better for whatever administration is in office.

Sorry, it just isn’t quite that simple.

After the unemployment benefits run out they drop you off the count of the unemployed, job or no job. The real unemployment rate is always higher then the “official” number. That doesn’t even start to show the people that had to change professions or take a significant cut in pay to land any job at all. With the outsourcing to China and other countries it’s more then just I.T. people that are facing a tough job market.

This country not only needs a wall to keep the illegal aliens out, it needs import quotas and tariffs to keep jobs in.

Even someone 'lucky' enough to out-compete illegals and receive the honor of working two minimum wage jobs full-time, or as close to full time as a company will allow in order to avoid paying benefits like basic healthcare, would be wholly unable to support a family.

Gotta disagree with you, at least in part.
First: 5% unemployment rate. Who says? What is their criteria? That particular statistic can be manipulated to give almost any answer and politicians and bureacrats are adept at doing just that.
Second: At 55 years old a prospective employee is also a prospective liability. He (or she) is at an age where illness and injury are more common than for those who are younger and stronger. Many companies will tell such a person that he is just "too qualified" for the position. That's to make him feel better about being unemployed. Believe me, it doesn't work. At least, it didn't work in my case.
