Except that conservatives in different nations are trying to conserve very different things.
Pakistani conservatism tries to conserve its traditional Islamic society, which countenances atrocities such as this.
American conservatives are trying to conserve the principles of the American Revolution, which historically are very radical indeed, in reality much more radically different from past history than those of the French or Bolshevik Revolution.
But you are correct that the MSM never points out this critical distinction in what different conservative traditions are trying to preserve.
