I'm guessing Cal's a Libertarian? He's right in this case. If you don't like what public, Gov. funded schools are teaching or not teaching your children, then, seek alternatives.
Cal Thomas is the most-distributed conservative columnist out there. He is also associated with many Christian organizations. Not exactly a libertarian.
I don't know. He's definitely a Christian. And a conservative. There are Christian libertarians, so he could be that and conservative too. I don't see that as an incompatible mix, although I'm sure that others do. It sounds like a description of some of the Founders, actually. But that's a whole separate topic.
Were he a true Libertarian he would only suggest such an alternative if the citizen could take his tax money with him. Why should a citizen have to pay through taxes for the failed education system being meted out to others like a weak poison?
THEN WHY SHOULD CHRISTIAN PARENTS HAVE TO PAY FOR AN EDUCATION THEY CANT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF BECAUSE OF ITS HOSTILE, POOR PERFORMING, AMORAL CHARACTER?
of course that will never be an option.
CAL THOMAS....go ahead, strip out all aspects of christian influence on this nation (which is exactly what prompted the founders to create such a good model of government) because it no longer seem relevant to you (because of your own personal religious beliefs) and see what is left at the end. I would imagine a leftist, amoral, godless state.....ruled by amoral elites who steal all the cream and leave only the shell for the citizen -- hey, sounds like alot of countries we already know....and everyone is flocking to get away from them to America.
Jesus said, If you are ashamed of me before men, I will be ashamed of you before the Father in heaven.
