It said it views such attacks with "extreme severity" and holds Lebanon responsible.

When did Israel go stupid? I am Lebanese-American and I have always admired and supported Israel. The Israelis are intelligent, so why have they gone stupid now?

Why hold Lebanon responsible? It is Iran and Syria who are the muscle and the money behind Hezbollah. This is like Bush turning his head the other way while Iran and Syria build IEDs and funnel thugs into Iraq to kill American troops.

Why do the Israeli government and Bush keep giving Iran and Syria free passes?

Yeah, but the terrorist training camp was in Lebanon. Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas.

Lebanon must be held responsible as long as they cling to the charade that they control the territory. Lebanon must either exert the rule of law or abandon claim to the land. They can't have it both ways.
That's like Gov. Blanco refusing to allow the Feds to control NOLA, then complaining when it's a horrible, out-of-control mess.

Why hold Lebanon responsible?

Doesn't seem to me that they ~are~ holding Lebanon as a country responsible. They were taking out a terrorist target that happened to be in Lebanon. Seems to me also that Lebanon wouldn't "retaliate" either. To do so would put them in the position of defending PFLP which I don't suppose they'll wish to do.

This is no new news! These are remnants of the Syrian occupation. Do not ask me who is still covering them and for what purpose.

I am "Lebanese-American" (I don't go for hyphenated names--I'm American), and I think the Israelis have the right to protect themselves from which ever direction is necessary. Focus on what is real and don't be so sensitive.

Israel went “stupid” when their civilians started getting shelled, again.

If Lebanon isn’t in control of the PFLP terror camps in their midsts, then they should be grateful to Israel for taking them out.

Your argument is like Mahmoud Abbas and the PA’s claims that they don’t control Palestinian terror so Israel should not respond to terror and rocket attacks on its citizens. Too bad. Israel’s first responsibility is to protect its citizens.

What excuses would you accept if your family was being shelled?

Israel reminds me of the school yard bully. Everybody knows that Hezbollah is more powerful than the Lebanese Army, and that Hezbollah is supported by Syria and Iran. Yet, Israel rarely if ever attack Syrians directly. However, they have for years bombed Lebanese electrical installations (that make electricity to ALL Lebanese, not just Hezbollah) and other Lebanese economic assets in retaliation for Hezbollah's attacks.

Most Americans don't realize that Lebanon is a major competitor of Syria and Israel in terms of tourist dollars. They both have done their best to never allow there to be peace in Lebanon so as to scare those tourists.
