Re your #96 -
Hopefully, that was a "bunker buster" that took the head Mullah behind the desk right on top of the turban and drove him straight to Hades like a bloody pile driver.
If so; well played indeed, IAF!
Re your 107: "... if Bush condemns Israel for this,..."
I fully expect him to. As a matter of fact he probably already has, I just have yet to read or watch the news yet this morning.
Applauding Israel for such bold initiative would certainly offend our "Friends" the Saudis, don't we know, and that would simply never do.
The best we might hope for, I opine, is tacit acknowledgement of Israel's "right to defend itself".
No kiddin', eh?
Yes, it's sad. The best and the right strategy for Bush is to applaud them.......that would give the middle-east something to ponder.
You really missed the point I was making.
Iran and Syria are getting free passes by both Bush (relating to Iraq) and Israel (in regards to their terrorists attacks).
I don't argue the point that Israel should take out any terrorist camp in Lebanon--I agree. My complaint is that Syria and Iran feed Hezbollah (among others) and little is done against them. In Bush's case, Iran has built many of the IEDs that have killed a lot of our troops, and Syria is funneling thugs into Iraq--again, Bush is not taking effective action to put a hurt on those two for doing that. That is my point that "Bush and Israel continue to give Iran and Syria a free pass".
Hmmmmm. That ole Jerry Lee Lewis song keeps going through my head.....with a slight change..."Come on over baby, whole lotta smitin' goin' on...."
(It said it views such attacks with "extreme severity" and holds Lebanon responsible.)
Israel reminds me of the school yard bully. Everybody knows that Hezbollah is more powerful than the Lebanese Army, and that Hezbollah is supported by Syria and Iran. Yet, Israel rarely if ever attack Syrians directly. However, they have for years bombed Lebanese electrical installations (that make electricity to ALL Lebanese, not just Hezbollah) and other Lebanese economic assets in retaliation for Hezbollah's attacks.
Most Americans don't realize that Lebanon is a major competitor of Syria and Israel in terms of tourist dollars. They both have done their best to never allow there to be peace in Lebanon so as to scare those tourists.
Sunna or later,Shi'ite will happen! Allahu fubar!
There'll be "Great Balls of Fire"!
