I assume there is some feeling that McCain should be considered for the Republican nomination in 2008, even on this site.

Well, when I think about who deserves my support I'm going to look at more than their voting record. I'm going to look at their principles, their love of freedom and free enterprise, their respect for the constitution and how they hold up under fire.

I'm afraid McCain fails miserably on all counts.

Even with just the voting record alone you can see his steady deterioration. ACU gave him the lifetime voting record of 83% conservative, but for 2004 alone it was 72%, and 2003 it was 75%. By the time he'd be in the White House he'd be a Bill Clinton clone.
