Dolly, thanks for sending me the link to the Dose.

I'm just thinking how the Bush-haters miss all the joy that we have in viewing these photos and loving our President.

But, they're "stuck on miserable," I guess...

The Security at Walter Reed is tighter

I guess it helps to know a lot of the soldiers now. They pretty much let me in whenever I show up. Most of the guards know me on sight after 6 months of seeing me every week. LOL

Until just now, I didn't know the President and First Lady were at the Ranch today and yesterday. I suspected as much, from the sound of jet fighters in the area. I can always tell when the President is "in residence" from the fighters deployed to protect him. However, since I'm on vacation and didn't get to go by where they are usually parked, I haven't had the oportunity to see them, but I have heard them in the area.

There are the hateful bashers & then those that have just been feed by media a slew of misinformation & believe all the crap! I have a friend like that. She thinks 42 had a wonderful marriage & Dubya does not. She doesn't hang at FR does she?

Enjoyed the Kennedy program.. going to take Toby out for one more tree watering & then crash..

glad you made it here. I lurk every night & post as often as time/energy permit.

Years ago I used to race Drag Boats and one of the races were held in Waco, Texas, very near Crawford if my memory serves me correctly. I was in Waco in 1991, and I believe Crawford is about 20 miles from Waco... Am I wrong?

You've had your car searched??? I noticed last week that the guards were toting "large" guns. I did not recall seeing those before. They would have fun searching my car, what with all the signs and counter-protest paraphernalia. ;*)

Thank you for going in spite of all that. I think it is so important that our troops know that the American public supports them.

I love those guys, and I wish I could do more. Each and every time I visit them I find myself numb afterward, numb with shock because of their spirit and their eagerness to return to their units. The dedication and devotion I have seen from all of them is something that I will never ever forget.

Most of the time they seen shocked that just some old fart like me would drop in and say thank you and leave some stamps, magazines, blank paper, pens and pencils or phone cards. I tell them every time that they have NO IDEA how much we love them.

My day, week, month and year is made, every time I get the opportunity to convey to them that what I bring to them is not just from me, but many people who asked me to deliver their heartfelt wishes for their speedy recovery. I can't think of anything any more rewarding than honoring their service NOTHING

sniff...sniff (wiping eyes)

Neither can I Mike, neither can I. I now have a contact in my city that wants me to become involved with the "local" VA hospital. He is retired Navy and says there is plenty to do locally. I will be talking to him about that next week.

Keep up your great and noble work. Our troops deserve nothing less than all that we can do!
