Because going around the court when it denied your requests isn't exactly a stirring defense. Regardless of how justified it may have been. We always must remember that it's Bush today, Hillary tomorrow.

I am glad they went around the court...my family is safer because they did......now besides the DEMS we have 11 freaking judges trying to stop us from catching the bad guys.

I miss the days of a Clinton presidency, when FReepers challenged the extent of executive power.

Unfortunately, it is going to take a Hillary Clinton for some FReepers to snap out of it and start bemoaning this nonsense.

And in between, a US city or two get nuked.

There was NO FISA court until the 70-s, are you claiming that all previous presidents ignored the Constitution?

Not to mention that Bush DOES have the presidential authority to do what he did.

We are at war and he has powers to do what is necessary to protect us.

Using that logic, there may not BE any tomorrow.

Please, please, please STOP, people, from referring to a Hillary presidency as inevitable. It is NOT inevitable. In fact, it's a long shot, UNLESS people start accepting it as an inevitability.

Why shouldn't Hillary be allowed to tap the phones of terrorists?

That is not good enough reasoning to put ourselves in danger because it may be abused one day (or not).

Do you for one moment think that The Hildabeast will obey the law? If she wanted it she would get it. ONTH Bush was IMO doing what any protector would do. That is why it is necessary for the people to be in the forefront of electing a person to CEO of America & not let a bunch of elitists do it for us.

Bush today, Hillary tomorrow.

Actually it is Bush today and Hillary yesterday. Don't you recall that she had all the secret FBI files that were not to be abused for the same reason as wiretaps and everyone in her administration had access. Even Livingston whom nobody knows who hired him. What about the liberty of Americans who Hillary had spied on and "surveiled" without court approval by the FBI?

"We always must remember that it's Bush today, Hillary tomorrow."

Did you sleep through Clintonism? This is today and the issue is protection of this nation against uncivilized lunatics that seek every opportunity to kill as many of US as possible.

Under Clintonism the Constitution did not prevent the Clintons from law breaking, heard of the Barrett report that the Congress is hiding from we the people?

What President Bush is doing legally has not one thing to do with a hypothetical fear of what Hillry might do, laws have not gotten in her way yet.
