I have seen that clip. That's great. I've also seen one where a guy is holding two signs (one right in the front of the other). The first sign reads "Frank & Don are great" . He quickly drops that one to show the other sign that reads..."But Howard sucks".

Could someone provide a little info for me? I seem to remember a MNF game where it was late in the 4th quarter, the winning team was ahead by 3 and they had to punt deep in their own territory. The punt would have probably gave their advisary good field position and a good chance of at least kicking a field goal to tie. So they decided to take an intentional delay of game penalty followed by another. This pushed them back further until the ball was just in front of their own endzone. Howard was in the booth screaming that the coach was an idiot to do this; why intentionally take 2 delay of game penalties. The team then set up to punt but instead the kicker stepped out of the end zone for a touchback. The other team got 2 points but the kicking team got a free kick from the 30 yard line pinning their opponents back deep in their own territory and winning the game. Does anyone remember such a game?

Thanks for catching that, I have no idea why I typed Arizona instead of Oklahoma.

I don't recall that particular one, but it sure sounds like something that Howard would have said.

I don't understand what all the hoopla is about MNF being moved. The reports are as if MNF is ending, which it is not. Times changes, so does TV programming.

OJ did MNF in Bruno Magli shoes and then killed his wife and Ron Goldman in those same "ugly ass" shoes. Another one for the record books.

I really didn't pay much attention to the Cosell/Meredith banter, BION. Sorry. I just paid attention to the game, as much as an Eastern Time Zoner could given the 9 pm ET start.

Not really about MNF, but as a very occasional football fan, I have the distinction of having attended the last college games of both Don Meredith and Jerry Rice (Rice of Mississippi Valley against Louisiana Tech, 1984 NCAA division I-A playoffs). Sitting among a bunch of Valley fans when Jerry walked by, one of them said "We call him MR. RICE." (They got that right.) BTW, Tech beat Valley 66-19. Meredith lost to Arkansas, I don't recall the score.

I remember going to the downtown Hilton in Greensboro NC where their bar had free hotdogs and popcorn to watch MNF. I used to love listening to Howard and Dandy Don. It was just part of football. I remember hearing Howard crying on the air about something. He sounded hammered.

(If you aren't part of the solution, there is good money to be made prolonging the problem.)
