I completely object to this unfair characterization. The Baby Boom generation consists only of 1946-1959. Those of us who follow are Generation W and would no more be boomers than we would dump buckets of paint on our collective heads.
As another boomer, I can say that the worst thing the boomers have done is raise kids to believe that the world owes them a living.
I as the same, and I sadly agree. When I entered college in 1968, I was negatively surprised at the self-centeredness and voluntary ignorance of many (not all, by any means) students I met there.
As an adult, I taught on the university level for 24+ years. The few profs (I taught in a College of Business within a university) who had pretty clearly bought into the hippy lifestyle in the late 60s and early 70s, turned out to be lazy, selfish (huge sense of entitlement), chronic complainers, and cranky and unreasonable both with students and other faculty. Now, they are finally retiring, and everybody else is relieved.
