"I haven't seen this much political pandering since...NEVER."

Sure you have.

President Bush is offering greetings to a group of Americans who celebrate Kwanzaa. Why would he not? 10,000 folks in Chicago, gathering. Others in other cities.

Is it a celebration that was started in a bogus way? Probably. Is it religious? Not at all. It simply is, and has enough celebrants to attract the attention of just about everyone, for one reason or another.

So, the President of all the citizens of The United States of America sends a greeting to those citizens who celebrate this holiday.

Same with Ramadan. 5 million Muslims or so are citizens of the USA, making President Bush their president as well.

He's just doing his job.

"President Bush is offering greetings to a group of Americans who celebrate Kwanzaa. Why would he not?...He's just doing his job."

Maybe because this so-called "holiday" originates as a total lie from a criminal marxist as a mockery to America and Christmas. Does THAT make it legitimate to you??

Nevermind the President merely repeated the lies about a "Kwanzaa" that is fake and fraudulent.

Since when has the President's job description called for him to "celebrate" every fake kooky "holiday" because a 10,000 "group of Americans" celebrate it? And did JFK "celebrate "Ramadan"??

But then again, as a proud self-vowed atheist, your slant on this issue would be...different.

I wonder if people get so upset when he offers greetings on St. Patrick's Day? Or Bastille Day? Or Cinco De Mayo?
Most of the people who celebrate those don't know what they mean, either. Americans just like parties.

For you and all the other defenders of Kwanza as some harmless or constructive alternative holiday - I'd suggest that you take a few minutes to read the detailed description of this event as described by the manic criminal who started it. It is definitely anti-white America, anti-Christmas, and anti-religious. It has NO roots in Africa or any other nation or culture - it is a SCAM by a convicted felon and con-man.

Sheesh for all the whining about people getting 'picked on' for expressing opinions - there are still too many who comment without either reading the complete post or taking advantage of the shared knowledge that is made easily accessible.
