My mother grew up in Tenafly, New Jersey. Once I was teasing her about being a Jersey girl, and she said, "At least it doesn't smell as bad as Pasadena."
Then she stopped, thought for a second, and said, "Wait, yes it does. Never mind."

This reminds me of the time the State Legislature was seriously considering making Bruce Springsteen's "Born To Run" the official state anthem, until someone correctly pointed out the song is all about GETTING THE F**K OUT OF JERSEY.

As a long time Chathamite I must also add that one of New Jersey's greatest exports is its own people.....of which one I am.....thankfully. New Jersey is now a Democrat Hell Hole.

I grew up in NYC. I can always remember the reply when someone said they were from NJ. "Oh, you're from New Jersey? What exit?" I was exit 137 on the Garden State Parkway. :0)
