You can try to come to "peace" terms with those that differ from you and your beliefs, but the problem with that, and what makes that impossible is that their goals and beliefs are completely opposite to yours and seek to override yours.
So try as you may, it's not possible save for simply disengaging for a spell.
What would you think if I told you that we are a lot closer than we are lead to believe on several subjects that are bedrock principles of ours.. such as Gun Control, Abortion, and the radical Gay agenda.. Many Democrats are a lot closer to us than their own party..
