It's just when political discussions get involved it's really my dad. My dad just gets angry. He's not ready to handle an argument with his son

Wow!! I am sorry I missed this. I haven't finished reading the whole transcript, but when I saw this, I had to react:

Justin, it sounds to me that at least some of this is inspired by basic male competition. At some deep level, your father sees you becoming a man, and for whatever reason, it really bothers him. He will soon no longer be the alpha male.

Just my two cents, and now I will return to reading the transcripts. It sounds like one of Rush's legendary calls. How to give advice in a situation like this?

But Justin, if you are a Freeper, PLEASE freepmail me!

Also, please ping me on stuff like this, PJ-Comix, if you don't mind.

Now I can't remember how I found this thread, if I was checking pings or just browsing, so sorry if you had pinged me.

Even though I didn't have political fights with my Dad, I had more than my share of fights with him when I was in High School. A lot of fights were over me listening to talk radio late at night. I would take a small radio under the sheets and put it up to my ear to listen. Somehow my father who must have an AMAZING sense of hearing heard me listening to it despite the fact it was barely audible and despite the fact that my bedroom door was closed. And when I say we had fights, they weren't just yelling type fights. I mean we got physical.
