When I was about nine, I first became aware of the radio talking about "parties." Thinking they were fun parties like birthday parties, I asked my Dad about this. Since he was/is a liberal he told me the guy on the radio was talking about political parties and then explained about the parties by saying the Democrats were for the poor and working people and the Republicans were for greedy rich people. I swear that at that age, it became hardwired into my mind. I didn't shake that notion until AFTER high school when I read copies of National Review at the library. I couldn't understand how anybody could be a Republican so I at first read the National Review for laughs. However, in stark contrast to the DUmmies whom I satirize in my own blog, I realized that instead of laughing at conservatives, I started laughing at the foibles of the liberals thanx to reading National Review (and later American Spectator).

I think the problems with Liberals is that like me back then, political notions are HARDWIRED into their heads. Some of them investigate outside the Liberal Bubble like I did but most do not. Maybe the Rush Limbaugh subscription will expose your folks to things outside the Liberal Bubble.
