Omissions at the source (NYT-NSA)
The Washington Times ^ | 12-23-05 | Daniel Gallington

I searched in vain through the New York Times story on the National Security Agency allegedly intercepting communications of people in the United States with overseas targets with a nexus to terrorism -- for the part that might more fully develop the legal justification for the activity.

What would the dems find unacceptable for the NY Times to publish in time of war? Anything critical of the dems or positive about Bush

"The New York Times" is not some monolithic faceless alien oracle.

It is run by this man, Arthur Sulzberger Jr. and his cadre of socialist crook propagandists from NYC's 42nd st.

Sulzberger is an enemy of the state and should be surveilled and brought up on charges of sedition.

***If there was and Executive Order wouldn't it be public knowledge, ...***

No, some EO's are secret - as this one was until the NY Times committed treason.

Great catch,Angel.Thanks for posting!

Have you tried the search function here at FR? I entered Clinton Executive Order and there's a treasure trove on this subject. If you havn't tried it, I recommend it to you.

Click on "Quick" and you'll get the option of "Archive". It's a wonderful feature we have here at FR.I use it from time to time, and find it better than standard internet search engines in many cases.

One thing that is heartening is the concern and diligence shown by President Bush in undoing Clinton abuses of E.O.'s.

I apologize. It was late. I was rash and thoughtless. More like a Mac Sennet movie...Keystone cops, for example.

My answer would be "Nope," but the dominant theme in the "experts" I'm reading is that there's nothing to STOP W from doing this, not that it's legal.

The Constitution authorizes the President to conduct foreign policy. This is foreign policy. No law (Constitutional or not) prevents his office from this. It is therefore legal.
