If BART goes thru as laid out, it effectively means bye bye to the world's "largest" flea market in the world... which would really BUMb-out the Bumb family who owns it and a local gambling establishment.

The ballpark in Japantown is a nutso idea, imo, for any number of reasons.

The reality is that fixed rail transit is a loser compared to bus-only freeways, simply because the bus can leave the "track" and proceed to a final destination, a FAR more flexible system. Even better would be a VHOV electronic "road" that operated by toll so that the buses could be accompanied by jitneys, taxis, etc.

Fixed rail may be a loser transportation system, but it does optimize government control of movement!
