It's in the genetic code of Democrats to erect bureaucracies and hold meetings when it comes time to turn loose of money, it seems.

Ah, yes, part of the "Do as I say, not as I do" policies of the Dem party.

I is a fact that Dems can only criticize but cannot do. In this case they are quick to condemn W but, when it comes to them having the opportunity to actually do something they can only sit around and debate the matter. A carbon copy of their actions in TWOT.

"We are collecting all the way up through the very end of the year and then our board has set aside a committee who is going to administer the funds," Patty Rice, spokeswoman for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), told Cybercast News Service on Wednesday.
"...a committee who..."???

Apparently, no one told these people that more white people died than black people in this hurricane. Or they're choosing to ignore it.
To: John Jorsett
Until the professional racists and victim mongers are eliminated from our society, this type of opportunistic ractist extortion will continue.
If I were a black person, I would insist on the abolishment of the Black Caucus and the other race-baiters that are a blemish to racial pride.

There's a rumor that Cynthia McKinney and her father are reinvesting the money from the donations in a sure-fire plan that will return the funds ten-fold. She is reported to have said it's a 99.9% certainty that it will be successful. If you can't trust her, who can you trust?/sarc

The simplest explanation is that the folks who are the sort that quickly rebuild after such a natural disaster are not the target demographic for the Caucus. The ones it seeks are probably still sitting in a rent-free hotel.

U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, a Democrat from Texas, alleged that if a Democrat had won each of the last two presidential elections, the federal response to the hurricane would have been more timely. Just Clinton like in 1999. It took him 4 weeks to get aid to victims of hurricane Floyd.
History doesn't support Ms. Lee's fantasy.

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, which slammed the Bush administration for its allegedly slow and racially insensitive response to Hurricane Katrina, has yet to spend any of the estimated $400,000 that it raised for the victims of the Aug. 29 storm.
"We are collecting all the way up through the very end of the year and then our board has set aside a committee who is going to administer the funds," Patty Rice, spokeswoman for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), told Cybercast News Service on Wednesday. The Foundation is an offshoot of the Congressional Black Caucus and was founded in 1976.
------What a crock of sh**. The people need the money now, as in yesterday, right? They damn sure tried to make everyone else give, give, give and blamed it on racial bullsh** for slow response. Yet they are setting on cash that was intended for victims of Katrina and not doing their part? Bunch of thieves lining their own pockets, no doubt.

"We are collecting all the way up through the very end of the year and then our board has set aside a committee who is going to administer the funds,"Well, that should be easy. All they have to do is divide the amount of money they raise by the number of committee members and, viola!
