Too bad it's in Middleburg. Pound-for-pound, there are probably more snobs in Middleburg that any other country town in America.
This restaurant sounds just outre enough to work - for a while.

Maybe she should sell politically-related products such as "Clinton cocktail-weenies".

Linda, I applaud your entrepreneurial spirit.
However, to put a bratwurst on a hot dog bun is a frickin travesty! Shame on you! Use authentic brotchen and watch your sales ZOOM!

Damn...this has been my idea for a while now.
The DC metro region has a serious lack of German restaurants. I know of 2, one being near Annapolis (so not in the DC area at all ;) ), and they both suck.

Virginia, of course. Middleburg is a very charming, historic town an hour west of Washington DC. But as Rex notes, it's full of the newly rich, the "dressage queens," who are far more snobbish than the old Virginia families in the surrounding countryside.

Brats!
I was born in Wisconsin, so I'm used to the American version - thick and squatty, served on an over sized roll after being simmered with beer & onions and grilled on low heat. Chopped onions, chopped pickles, ketchup and mustard. Used to do just kraut but like better all the way now.

Germans dip the bun in mustard and eat it on the side instead of as a sandwich, Tripp said. No, they do the sandwich thing, too, but dip the whole thing in the mustard rather than put the mustard on it.
She gobbles down "weisswurst," a white sausage typical of Munich that's boiled, not grilled.
And you can get grilled weiswurst pretty much anywhere, at least in central-northern Germany, and hubby is from there.
I'll know they're really authentic if the fries come only with either mayonnaise or curry-ketchup. Anyway, I'm hungry now.

My wife and I recently moved to the Reading PA area, which has a historically German influence. But there's only one German restaurant that I know of, called The Alpenhoff, and it stinks. They used instant potatoes for cripes sake!
