But even mentioning that the girl who took her own life was not wise, alert, or considerate enough to not wrap the presents before her death is just less than intelligent by you. When she bought and prepared the presents she probably had no intent of killing herself.
I had a mother and a father take their own lives. No matter, your comment is just not too smart.
Without wishing to be too crass, I would say it's too bad "this gesture made things worse (for the family), not better." I'm surprised her family passed that little detail along to you. I think it was rather selfish of them, to be totally honest.
