Anyone have any further details? This is horrible news for Coach Dungy. What an amazing man he is.
Is this the kid that's always on the sidelines with Dungy?
Oh man!
I have lived in indianapolis my entire life and work about a mile from the Hoosier Dome where the Colts play. I know a couple of Colts executives and through them have met Tony Dungy. He is truly a wonderful man, as warm and genuine a person as can be found anywhere. he did not know me from Adam but was so gracious and sharing of himself and his time that I an forever a Dungy lover. he is a true class act and I wish more people were like him.
This is a terrible thing and certainly something that Tony Dungy did not deserve. He is truly loved in this city and I know the citizens of Indianapolis are just sick about this.
Thanks for your comments about my previous post. It does irritate me, especially in this case that is so close to me, that people, with no evidence whatsoever, can make such assumptions about others.
Thanks,
PresidentFelon
We were trying to figure that out ourselves.
Yes they do ......... but that increase usually consists of older people who look back at this time of year over their lives and see a lifetime of regrets.
Ok - no, it's not that son. Just confirmed.
"made things worse" --- I will withhold my comment to you .......... other than to say to you that you may have been better off remaining silent on this.
No, don't bother to reply ........ just figure it out for yourself.
Merry Christmas

Dungy is universally respected by his church congregation which I know a few members.
Owner Irsay on the other hand has had drug problems and is devoting his life to picking the Indiana taxpayers pockets to fund his mansions, helicopters, etc.
If any coach has the strength of faith to withstand such a crushing loss, it's Tony Dungy.
My heart goes out to him - I pray he'll be able to respond in faith and trust even amidst the gut-wrenching loss.
Same in Tampa. We genuinly loved Tony Dungy. Many people in my office know him - he still has a home here. He's a man that stood out for his integrity and demeanor. It is a shame.
What a tragedy. Praying for the Dungy family.
One station here is reporting suicide..
Yes.

From USA Today:
James and (brother) Eric sometimes watched Colts games from the sidelines, but they had to earn that viewing vantage point.
Last year, when James was a senior at North Central High School and stood 6-foot-7 and weighed 235 pounds, sometimes was mistaken for one of his father's players. The boys, who began watching their father's players at practice when they were just 3 or 4 years old, had to do well in school to get to travel with the team.
In a story published in The Indianapolis Star in December 2004, James Dungy said: "If you don't keep your grades up, you don't go to away games."
Coach Dungy will always be a Steeler.
The Steeler Nation mourns.
Prayers.
As a lifetime Pittsburgher I got to know Tony quite well as a player and as a coach.
God loves this man and he loves his God.
Prayers for the entire family.
I stand corrected - we were trying to figure out if it was the boy who runs out after the kicking tee during the games. James may have done that in the past but it is a younger brother doing it now.
Son was 18. Actually, the Dungys still live in Tampa where he coached for many years (the Buccaneers) and left about 4 years ago. The Bucs won the superbowl the year after he left and it was a given that his coaching in the prior years was what brought them to that victory.
Don't know of anyone who didn't like this man.
....James went to Park Tudor...very exclusive school here in Indianapolis, where the rest of the Dungy kids go to school.....one of the lawyers here whose wife is Dean at Park Tudor was instrumental in getting James into the university in Florida....very, very sad day...
