Okay, retread who refuses to stay banned, he said that prior to writing "1984". That book was intended as an apologia, for all of his other work. It says so, in his own words, in the preface.

Mod, this banned one refuses to stay banned. He's back, just signed up tonight, with the same nic and an added "2". I don't know why you banned him, but please do it again. Thanks!

And being that you can research, what was adopted in the Constitutional Powers of the President with respect to the conduct of war? Congress declares war, the President executes the war.

You don't? Does that mean that the al Qaeda guys, who were planning to attack us here, who were born in America CITIZENS, living near Buffalo, shouldn't have been stopped? REALLY?

Did you know that Socialists and anarchists were "spied on" by our government in the late 1880s?

Our government shouldn't have bother poor Julius and Ethel Rosenberg...should they. Guess not, by your lights.

What about Aldridge Ames, who was the ONLY person to "OUT" Valerie Plame?

You wrap that napkin around your head; terrorist LOVER?

It's "Madame" and you're very welcome! :-)

The FFS thought that most of the populace were far too STUPID for this nation's good. They may have been elitists, but they really weren't all that wrong. The few loonies on this thread, just prove how prescient they were.

No, they wouldn't have; nor any earlier time either.

And being that you can as well, I would suggest you look at the limitations laid out in the case I referenced as the President executes that war (even though passing the buck to the Executive Branch as has been done since 1941 isn't the definition of war Constitutionally). I would, as would any conservative, argue that powers allowing possible spying on the citizens of the respective states in the name of national security falls under those same limitations

I have been asking that query of the same naysayers, since the original Patriot Act was talked about. I still haven't really gotten an answer.

Ping Me, if you ever get an answer to it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours!

"We were attacked at Pearl harbor in 1941! For crying out loud, at least get the year right! Do you even know the date that Pearl Harbor was hit?"

Internment and other domestic reaction policies started in 1942, thus my use of the date. I assumed readers would know this, though from your posts it was clear you would attack on anything you didn't like no matter how painfully obvious it was.

You seem unable to post replies without personal attacks, and I don't have time for folks who work out their emotional issus online. I will not communicate or read anything further from you. I just don't have time for the personal attack crowd.

Civil discourse is fine, but the internet allows the veil of pseudo-anonymity and distance to encourage some people to carry out personal attacks that they would NEVER do in person (said people would be constantly assaulted if they carried out their daily life in this fashion, at least in the south).

It opens the doors for abuse. And just because my freedoms haven't been abused (who knows, maybe they have) doesn't mean I want the government abusing other American citizens' freedoms.

That door has been open for 4 years, and everybody's 90 year old grandma has been stripped searched.

The FFS thought that most of the populace were far too STUPID for this nation's good.

Indeed some of them did. One reason for non popular election of Senators and in many states that of the President. Rather now 200+ years later we have partisan hacks voting for these individuals, giving them the path to pander for votes through wasting airtime for speeches and soundbites, usually focused on nationalism and namecalling, instead of being about the business of this nation of states. One wonders if we didn't have popular election of these people would we be inundated with soundbites on thwarted 'threats' further riling up the ignorant masses who apparently believe anything the government tells them

Frankly, there should be a $5 fine for whining.

Yes, lets start charging at $5 fine for everyone who calls someone a rino on FR.

What I posted was neither "stupid" nor "juvenile"; unlike what you always post. N either did it "validate" your patently ridiculous statement that everyone who disagreed with your position was a paid political hack, a politician, or someone who is profiting from government actions.

Your tinfoil body suit needs changing and your tinfoil hat is tied on way too tightly.
